FlexiSheet is Coming to Mac OS X

Next Generation Spreadsheet Application announced

DORTMUND, Germany, September 28, 2001 - Material Arts founder Stefan Leuker today pre-announced FlexiSheet, a multi-dimensional spreadsheet application, which will be released as a Technology Preview in October 2001.

FlexiSheet follows in the big footsteps of such great applications as Lotus Improv and Lighthouse Design's Quantrix. Taking an object oriented approach to tables and data, it allows the user to reorganize rows and columns on the fly, without losing data. FlexiSheet's user interface was designed from scratch to adhere to Apple's Aqua guidelines and makes number crunching really easy and enjoyable. FlexiSheet is only available for Mac OS X, Apple's next generation operating system.

"A lot of people familiar with the old Lighthouse productivity suite on OPENSTEP would like to see these applications on Mac OS X", Stefan Leuker said. "While the OmniGroup has released OmniGraffle, which is a worthy successor to Diagram2, the concept of a multi-dimensional spreadsheet, first conceived by Lotus with their Improv product, hasn't made the transition to the new OS yet. This is about to change."

An exact release date for the Technology Preview and pricing information for FlexiSheet is not yet available. More information can be obtained from the Material Arts web site.

Material Arts is a software label publishing software exclusively for Mac OS X.
Founder and President Stefan Leuker took the NeXT step in 1991. Stefan spends his time putting Objects on the Web and into Yellow Boxes. Lately, Cocoa has become Stefan's favorite drink.
